Glass Restoration on Suite 105 at St. Gregory's

We finished the glass restoration job on suite 105 today! Check out these pictures.

Unfortunately the window in the middle with eh blue tape in the middle had a failing seal so moisture was getting in between the panes of glass. There's nothing that can be done for a window like that except for replacing it. We recommend using Residential Window Service if you have foggy windows at your residence.

We were however able to restore the other 5 windows (surrounding that middle window) on this particular suite!

Demo for Hard Water Stain Removal in Tulsa

Demo for Hard Water Stain Removal in Tulsa

St. Gregory's University has staining on nearly all of their first floor windows, so they gave us a call to come out and give them a demo to remove the stains. We performed the demo on a window that had the most severe staining on the whole building, and we were able to restore it with ease. After seeing what we were able to do, and how much money we were going to save them over replacement costs, it was a no brainer. They're going to schedule a time for us to come out, and restore one of the suites that they're currently trying to lease; and then they'd eventually like to get the rest of the building done as well.

Severe Hard Water Stain Removal in Bixby

Severe Hard Water Stain Removal in Bixby

These stains were caused by the constant dripping of water from a leaking gutter above, onto the stone surface below. These stains were by far, the worst I have ever removed...and will probably ever have to remove. They were so severe that there were literally layers to the stain. The first layer just flaked off. The second layer had to be removed with a razor. The third layer had bonded so well to the glass that you could barely feel it on the surface. Essentially, this was the worst case scenario as far as hard water staining is concerned. These 2 stains took 3 hours to remove, and the glass came out looking beautiful!

The stains were so severe that they left the surface of the glass pitted and damaged. We had to sand the surface (see below) to level it out again, and get it looking nice and smooth again.

Erick Whitson - Auto Glass Restoration Tulsa - Part 2

The last restoration project I uploaded covered a small job I did for Erick Whitson. He had given me 2 pieces of vent glass from a car he's restoring, in hopes that I'd be able to bring back the clarity in the glass. It was my first time working on auto glass so I wasn't sure what kind of results I'd be able to achieve. Long story short, the glass came out looking almost new. He was so happy with the results, he ended up giving me the 4 door windows from the same car to restore. Keep in mind that he was only wanting the clarity of the glass brought back to life. He was not paying to have the scratches removed. Check out the video to see a side by side, before & after video comparison of the windows!

Mr. Whitson is currently in the process of restoring an old car, and the glass isn't in very good shape. He wanted to see if we'd be able to restore it so he didn't have to pay the several hundred dollar price tag to replace all the glass. This was my first time working on curved glass, so I didn't know how it was going to turn out. I guess I just didn't have enough faith in my own ability because this glass looks gorgeous now! Since I wasn't sure of what the final results might look like, he just gave me these 2 small vent panes to experiment on. I expect him to be more than happy with the results so chances are, I'll be restoring 4 larger panes as well! I'll be sure to add that project here too.

Hard Water Spots Removal Tulsa - Legends Car Wash

Hard Water Spots Removal Tulsa - Legends Car Wash

Car washes have a major problem when it comes to hard water staining. The glass inside car wash tunnels gets hit by soapy water all day long, all week long. In conditions like this, there's almost nothing you can do to prevent the staining. It's just a matter of consistently maintaining the surface of the glass so it's not permanently damaged. I recommend getting the windows polished a minimum of 4 times/year. Ideally, you should get them polished 1/month to stay on top of the problem and maintain the window's clarity.

Tulsa Hard Water Stain Removal - Joy Lutheran Church

We were able to save the folks at Joy Lutheran Church around $1,000 in glass replacement costs by restoring all of their sanctuary windows! The glass had been hit with sprinklers for 20 years, day in and day out. To top it off, their water comes from a well, so we’re talking really hard water here (high mineral content). We were able to remove most of the staining by just polishing the glass, but some areas were so severe, that we ended up having to resurface the window. Everything turned out looking fantastic, and they were extremely happy to be able to see out their windows again.

Hard Water Stain Removal Tulsa - Jamie Schaffitzel

The Schaffitzel's had a leaky gutter right above this window. So water is dripping every couple of seconds, 24/7. The water hits the stone below the window and then splashes up onto the glass above, leaving mineral deposits on the glass. The result was very severe staining. The stains buildup was so bad, there was literally "flakes" of minerals on the glass (bottom right hand corner). Typically stains will polish right out, but this one was so severe I actually had to sand down the stain till I reached the surface of the glass. Check out these pictures!
